How did you get started in the industry?: “I had been an advertising executive in the building industry for almost twenty years before a colleague and I decided to open an energy consulting business back in 2009.”
What do you like the most about your job?: “I enjoy the interaction with homeowners and helping them improve their biggest investment – their home!”
Best Advice: “My father always told me . . . there’s an easy way and then there’s the “right way” in doing home improvement projects. It’s nice when the easy way is the right way; however, that doesn’t happen too often.”
In his spare time: Marty enjoys spending as much time as he can with his family. Whenever there’s an opportunity, he enjoys golfing and fly fishing.
His favorite past vacation: Marty and his family enjoys escaping to his brother’s lake house in Kansas every year. No cell phone or internet connection . . . it’s a true vacation.
Krissy Hynds
Hometown: Indianapolis, IN, living in Burke, VA
Job Title(s): Interior Designer and Owner of Hynds Co. Interior Design
How did you get started in the industry?: “I began helping friends and family decorate their spaces. It wasn’t until I was on maternity leave with my daughter that I realized life is too short not to do what you love so I started my own Interior Design business in 2021!”
Responsibilities: Hynds Co. has collaborated with Home Performance Masters to offer premium interior design consulting services for their clients. Leveraging her expertise in guiding clients through the material selection process. Homeowners receive a personalized design that not only enhances the aesthetics but also aligns seamlessly with their unique lifestyle requirements.
What do you like the most about your job?: “I absolutely love seeing the end result- who doesn’t? A good before and after is what I live for, but truly the magic is in the process. Having the opportunity to learn about my clients needs, their dreams and turn that into a beautiful design.”
In her spare time: She makes time for hosting family and friends- playing board games, eating good food, and lots and lots of laughing.
Wilmer Reyes
(Interior Division)
Hometown: Alianza, Valle, Honduras
Job Title: Lead Manager
Experience: More than 20 years of remodeling experience.
Responsibilities: Wilmer acts as a liaison between the homeowner, architects, our design team, and any subcontractors throughout the entire process with a focus on site safety & quality assurance. His experience working under tight deadlines makes him a valuable asset to our team.
What do you like the most about your job?: “Working with my team, problem solving and most importantly . . . keeping our customer happy”
In his spare time: Wilmer likes to spend time with his family and a hobby mechanic.
His favorite past vacation: Wilmer and his family enjoyed a recent trip to Atlantic City Boardwalk in New Jersey.
Carlos Pena
(Exterior Division)
Hometown: Morazán, Yoro, Honduras
Experience: More than 19 years of exterior remodeling experience and a James Hardie Specialist.
Responsibilities: His experience and attention to detail makes him a perfect fit with our HPM exterior team.
What do you like the most about your job?: “I enjoy watching our progress over time and I get a lot of satisfaction when a project has been completed. Every project is different, so I enjoy the challenges that come with working on new projects.”
In his spare time: Carlos enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He also enjoys playing soccer in his downtime.
His favorite past vacation: Carlos and his family enjoyed a recent trip to the beach.
